The cyberpunk game

I always wanted to make a good game. When I was a kid I was just planning things and never really doing anything. Later on I started tinkering and not too long ago I actually started working on real projects and finishing them. It was a long way, and along that way I grew up and got to know various themes in art and culture. One of them was cyberpunk. I wayched Bladerunner and Enter the Matrix, I played Deus Ex, etc. I learned to respect those titles for various reaons and so one day I decided I'd like to try myself in designing a cyberpunk themed game. I was working on something different when a cyberpunk gamejam came along and so I called it my calling.

What is this game about

It's a short technical demo. There's 2 maps, one NPC to talk to, one "mission", two soundtracks (which I'm quite proud of) and couple of other small fetures. Basically walk into a bar, get the information (or not), and get back to your car. Originally I wanted to add a combat system and more NPCs, but I simply ran out of time. I have to attend something else, so I finished the project after 6, not 7 days of work. So I cut more dialogues, NPCs and area details from the game, like banner texts. I'm not sure whenever I will continue the project  this year. It depends on the interest of consumers.

What this game is supposed to be about

If I was to finish it, I would probably turn it into a futuristic sandbox adventure game. Deus Ex-esque conspiracy motives, questions about humanity, artificial life and intelligence, etc. Fun shooting, satisfying ways to resolve problems, and so on. I'd just need some time and probably a little monetary support.

Why you should give this game a chance

It's a product of willful work. I couldn't manage to finish everything on time, but I actually had fun making this game. And I think talking about this fun can tell you about what this game could be if it wasn't just a gamejam speedrun demo. There's a handful of things I never tried before until now, like setting up light baking, or animation masks. The girl in the bar has a skirt with full cloth physics - I planned to introduce ability to kill her, and so planning a ragdoll corpse I placed that in. She also has a sitting animation that's never utilized, and a constant breathing animation you might miss. I made a playermodel and an enemy model that are not in the game files anymore. The "hot chicken" was supposed to have full furnishing, an NPC inside and a smoke particle system coming out on the alley. There's lots of details I could write about for ages, but what matters in this is that I put some ideas and passion into this project because I like it. And I hope you'll like it too, if you try, stroll around listening to the music and think of possibilities of this game.
